Wheatstone Gas Project - Platform Interface Advisor

The Wheatstone Platform Interface Advisor with be responsible for the following:
  • Supporting the development of an Incident & Injury Free (IIF) culture with focus on the Wheatstone Platform Engineering workforce located in Perth.
  • Ensuring the Wheatstone platform design includes appropriate focus on inherently safe design, compliance with safety in design (SID) manual, human factors engineering, etc.
  • Participate on and fulfill obligations for the site safety leadership team and site operational excellence team. Be a model safety leader.
  • Coordination, interfacing and reporting Wheatstone Platform Engineering Deliver monthly reporting requirements to the company and JV Partners for the Wheatstone Platform engineering and procurement.
  • Coordinating the WP engineering and procurement trending and technical changes for ULT endorsement. Maintain budget.
  • Delivering and managing the Assurance plan and Risk matrix for the Wheatstone Platform engineering and procurement including interfacing with the Upstream AIR team.
  • Providing the Technical coordination for peer assists, technical workshops and ensure appropriate ETC engagement.
  • Coordinating close-out of actions resulting from the various workshops, peer reviews and assurance activities.
  • Delivering all JV Partner interfaces including technical sub-committee presentations and deliverables, technical forums, third party interfaces (TPI’s) and routine queries and actions in coordination with the JV Department.
  • Supporting Deputy Engineering Manager in the technical interfaces between Company and platform contractors through requests for information (RFI’s).
  • Preparing the technical responses to queries, consulting as required with relevant discipline engineers and transmit approved responses to Contractors.
  • Developing a strong working relationship with counterparts in the Contractor organizations. Coordinate similar RFI processes with Joint Venture Partners, other Wheatstone departments and their contractors.
  • Supporting deployment of project wide work processes (risk management, interface management, document control and information management, lessons learned, etc), ensuring application for the platform facilities scope.
  • Other general tasks as directed.
The role provides project engineering oversight of contractors and coordination across the upstream disciplines to ensure quality and timely delivery of the design within the overall project plan. The $20 billion Wheatstone Gas Development aims to commercialize the Wheatstone and Iago gas reserves via subsea completions tied to a processing platform and export to a Greenfield LNG plant located near Onslow to provide long term economic and strategic value for the company.
This job is based in Perth with frequent travel to Kuala Lumpur.

Senior Drilling Engineer - Wheatstone

Under the direct supervision of the Drilling Engineering Advisor - Major Capital Projects (MCP), Wheatstone Drilling Superintendent & occasionally the D&C Engineering Manager, Senior Drilling Engineer plans, coordinates and supports the drilling and completion of the Wheatstone subsea development well project in ~ 200m of water depth in a safe, legal and environmentally responsible manner. This role will drive the Phase 3 (Planning) deliverables for the project, leading to a project sanction target of mid-2011. It will also assist the project Phase 4 (Execution) execution team in all facets. The Wheatstone MCP also contains scope for the Clio development project, or other Onslow LNG Train 2/ expansion fields.

Planning & operational aspects include the Wheatstone & Clio MCP’s, specifically the large bore / high rate gas wells. This job requires a technical expert in drilling engineering with extensive subsea development well skills and experience. This job will be critical for the Australian Business Unit (ABU) D&C group, delivering one of the company’s biggest MCP’s to production by delivering 10-12 Wheatstone development wells required to produce 250-325 MMSCFD each with a 20+ year well life. The drilling & completions of these wells require rigorous designs that must not fail. This job will provide the engineering quality assurance and control to ensure the challenging well requirements are fully met. Skill and experience must include detailed knowledge/experience with floating rigs, subsea wells and high value completion types (gravel packing, eline perforating from floaters, etc)
